How to stop your band riding up

Why does my bra keep riding up? It’s simple, the back band is too big.

Your bra shouldn’t ride up, it should stay nice and snug around your back, parallel to the ground, and not creeping up your back. If it’s riding up, it’s too big and you’re not getting enough support.

So, your band is creeping up, we’re going to talk about what causes it, how it can negatively affect you, and how to fix it.

Is there anything worse than having to constantly adjust your bra throughout the day? Well, yes, I mean there is, but it’s pretty annoying! Having an ill fitting bra can cause you so many issues, physical and mental.

It’s something I often see in my fitting room, ladies coming along for a fitting with their back band up around their shoulder blades, their boobs drooping forward, sore shoulders, neck and back pain, rashes and more. They’re feeling fed up, they’re constantly having to readjust themselves and they can’t wait to get home to take their bra off.

So, let's sort this out, shall we?

Why does your band roll up?

Easy, the back band is too big. Your back band should be snug, but comfortable.

How can this affect you?

A big back band means no to little support, and this causes your bust to droop forward, shoulder and neck pain because your straps are doing all the heavy lifting (literally), the underwires move freely throughout the day, causing rashes and friction, and as a result, your uncomfortable and hate wearing bras!

How can we stop this problem?

Easy, we go down a band size until your band is snug, comfortable and parallel with the floor.

Your bra band should never be too tight, to the point where you’re sore and struggling to breath!

Remember, for every back band you come down, go up one cup size to keep the volume the same.

If you need any assistance with bra fitting, book in for a free fitting with Melissa at Llissie HQ in Glenrothes Fife, or you can contact us and we’ll be happy to help you find the perfect style and size to suit you and your needs.

And remember, bras shouldn’t be uncomfortable!
